@mas And respond they did. Or, at least, I found a refreshing response yesterday in Howard Rheingold's speech at Reboot Britain where he effectively talked about everything the opposite of Michael Barber's paper. I hope NESTA were listening.

Available to watch online at http://rebootbritain-livestream.appspot.com/ (the last session...)

Leadership has long been a bit of a dirty word and certainly you'd hope that a new body for youth leadership would be very creative about what modern youth leadership is and more importantly what it may be in the next few years.

Slightly off topic but I despair at who it is that these bodies get in to do their branding - we need to improve the image of volunteering, we need to encourage young leaders so we pump millions towards it and then we get scared of calling them what they are, going instead with 'V' (& doesn't everyone know V is only skin deep?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQoSCEMzJYE&feature=PlayList&p=C329326F09D416FF&index=0 ) and then the very underwhelming "youth of today" (which I can't help but say in a voice like a despairing old lady)

Anyway back to the critique and Tim a rant is a rant, you don't need to resolve it you just hope that others may respond :-)
