		<description>Unfortunately the WDM site asks you to name the team you are going to cheer for - ironically stifling some of the debate they desire. With a few mates I&#039;ve held to an anti-imperialist and anti-patriotic position at all world cups since 1970, which crudely means we cheer for any team playing England. We have wondered about making this position more sophisticated, but as soon as the national anthem strikes up and Rule Britannia is sung we revert to type. Let it be said we have adopted this position in a jocular and light-hearted manner in many bars across the Mediterranean. However our cheeky irony has not gone down well with England supporters in general.

It would be interesting to see if any youth workers use the WDF model to promote debate. Our republican stance always creates a smashing argument!
